How can I get a concealed weapon permit to carry a handgun in all states?
I am a Virginia resident and I currently have a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit which is recognized in about 15 other states. I have family in Maryland and visit there often and have to leave my weapon home because states such as Maryland and California do not recognize Virginia Concealed Handgun Permits. I know there is a way to get a permit to carry concealed in all states and just need to know how I can get one. A friend at work mentioned something about going threw the U.S Department Of Justice or Federal Bureau of Investigations (F.B.I) to get a permit that covers all states but I am not sure where I go at on the sites to get the forms. I have never been in trouble with the law and have no felonies of any kind. How can I get a concealed weapon permit to carry a handgun in all states? A link and instructions on how to apply perhaps would be great.
As far as I know, you can only get such a ‘privilege’ if you are a Federal employee such as an FBI agent or a bodyguard for an elite politician. Mere Citizens do not enjoy that ‘privilege’ any more.
Of course, if our Constitution were to be obeyed, you could carry in all States without a permit.
The DOJ, and FBI only issue national full carry permits to their agents. There is no nationally recognized full carry permit other than a federal badge. And of that there are many types.
You’re out of luck. There is no such U.S. Government issued concealed carry permit. Each state sets its own standards. Fortunately, many states do recognize each other’s permits, and, unfortunately, many do not.
The closest thing to this is a recent law passed by congress that lets retired police officers carry anywhere. But even that law is not a blanket permit.
You cannot get a permit to carry in all states as a private citizen. However HR 218 gives rights to law enforcement at all levels the right to carry within the united states.
The FBI doesn’t run around issuing gun permits.. Nice fantasy, but not reality. Try working in law enforcement, then you can carry in any state. And when you retire, you get this nice ID card that you obtain after qualifying and you can carry in all 50 states. Mine is nice and shiny and I like it.
The liberal parrot is wrong about the no national carry permit for non-federal I was local law enforcement and I got the permit for retired. See H.R. 218 under congressional carry laws, or look it up on the LEAA website.
Yup, you need to be an active cop or honorably retired cop if you have nothing else. I got mine…….Retired that is.
There is no such thing. Your state CCW may be good in a few other states by mutual agreement with other states, but there is no such thing as nationwide CCW. The only people who can carry nation wide are federal officers, and government operatives.
There is no such thing unless you are a Federal Agent. Also, make sure you are right about being able to carry on your Va permit in other states. I am retired NYPD. A bill was introduced in Congress (H.R.218) that would have allowed retired Police Officers to carry on their permit in other States. However, some states say they will not allow that to happen. Notably, our neighbor (New Jersey) was one of the states that refused to let Retired P.O.’s with a permit in NY, or any other state, to carry in their state….and of course, even if you travel between those states that you THINK you are authorized in…never get on an airplane with your weapon.
